Starting out recently with their first book ‘Beautiful Bastard’ published in 2013, they made an impact on the literary scene straight away. With plenty more titles from them on the horizon, there’s a lot more expected from these two, as they’re showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. Not often is a partnership so strong, but it has managed to survive a long time, something which their scores of fans are grateful for. Sharing each others ideas and skills they are each an equal talent combining their respective skills to create all of their work. Working together they find themselves to be on each others wavelength when it comes to ideas and the basic principles of creative writing, something which has served them well to this day. She is also married with a teenage child, and she also spends her time seeking inspiration as she writes full-time with her partner.
The other half of the writing duo is Christina Hobbs, who also spends a lot of her time within a junior high counselling office. Now she makes one half of the Christina Lauren writing team, as she she’s married to another scientist, and they have two small children together. Before she took up a career in writing full-time she was working in a laboratory studying and doing in-depth research. With a Ph.D in neuroscience Lauren Billings has a clear idea of the human psyche and what makes people tick, giving their characters a sense of realism that’s unparalleled.
With them both being focused on young adult and adult fiction it has been a perfect match, serving them well throughout both of their careers. They have been writing partners for a long time now accumulating a number of titles under both of their belts. With a number of titles under their belt, they’ve also managed to gain studio interest as well, turning the heads of Hollywood producers looking to adapt their work for the big-screen giving their work the cinematic treatment.īoth being American, they came together as part of a collaborative effort all due to them being of a similar mindset and writing style, as they found their approach to the genre, along with their choice of genre, worked well together. With both their talents combined together they have made a serious impact on the Young Adult literary industry, as well as the adult fiction category too. The combined pen-name of two respective American Young Adult fiction authors, Lauren Billings and Christina Hobbs got together to create the Christina Lauren label that now house their unique brand of fiction.
